This cabochon of Polish Flint has gorgeous patterns with a glass like polish. What is rare in this gemstone cabochon material is the internal layering. This type of flint, called banded flint, only occurred in the Jurassic limestone in Poland (160 million years ago). The irregular banding creates extremely picturesque internal structures making very special designer cabochons.
