This cabochon of Red Tiger has lots of chatoyancy with a band of Hematite. Tiger Eye is a very popular gemstone that displays a chatoyancy (cat’s eye) when a polished stone is moved back and forth. The rippled wavy bands of color often resemble a scenic view. Tiger's eye is mined in Western Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada, India, Namibia, and Burma.
